If your teen has trouble understanding and remembering what she reads, teach her this four-step process: 1. Your teen should read the passage. 2. Then, she should put a piece of paper over the material. 3. With the material covered, your teen should recall in her own words what she read. 4. She should review the material again to see if she remembered correctly.
